Instructor Colin Trusedell is a very experienced and versatile upright and electric bass player. Originally from Indianapolis, Colin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in music from the University of Miami and a Master’s Degree in music from Boston University. Colin is currently a member of the Air Force Academy Band in Colorado Springs and has one of the most impressive resumes of any upright and electric bass guitar instructors in the state.
As a performer, Colin is extremely versatile and is proficient in every musical style. He is an active writer, arranger, bandleader, and has produced four commercially available solo CD projects. His 2013 jazz release Some of My Best Friends Are Divas earned the rating “Best of 2013” on AllAboutJazz.com. His 2014 jazz fusion CD Quartet of Jazz Death gained critical acclaim in many national and international jazz and bass publications. In 2015 he released the traditional jazz trio album It’s All About the Hustle and the solo electric bass guitar recording All By Myself and has continued to get positive reviews in international publications such as Downbeat and Jazz Times. Colin has extensive touring experience with both the U.S. Navy Band Northeast and the U.S. Air Force Academy Band and has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, Fox and Friends, The Montel Williams Show, ESPN’s Sports Nation, and with the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his recording projects and duties with the Air Force Band, Colin is a very busy live performer and continues to be one the most in demand jazz, funk, rock, pop, and fusion bass players in the state of Colorado.
Colin is an experienced upright and electric bass guitar instructor and is currently the adjunct Professor of Bass for the music department at Colorado State University Pueblo. He also runs the national booking agency MyShowsLive, operates the record label MyShowsLive Records, and produces the radio program the “Colin Trusedell Jazz Jam” for KCMJ.org, 93.9FM.
